CINCINNATI (May 12, 2021) - Cintas Corporation (Nasdaq: CTAS) and United Way of Greater Cincinnati teamed up to dispense thousands of boxes of hand sanitizer to local non-profits and faith-based organizations.
Dozens of organizations throughout United Way’s 10-county service area in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana will receive Cintas’ donations for use or distribution. Some have already picked up their supply. The mass distribution occurred between 11 a.m. and noon on May 13 at United Way’s Cincinnati office (2400 Reading Road).
Cintas donated 3,708 boxes of hand sanitizer with a retail value of more than $400,000 in combination one-gallon boxes and bundle boxes:
United Way worked across the region to identify organizations with a high need for the product, such as school and healthcare systems, non-profits and faith-based groups.
“We know there is still great need out there and sanitizing is a new way of life,” said Moira Weir, president and CEO of United Way of Greater Cincinnati. “We are fortunate to have a great partnership with Cintas and connections throughout the community to get these to people in need quickly. This is a continuation of our work throughout the pandemic—see a need, step in and meet it.”
“Covid has impacted everyone in our region, and we’re proud to be able to help so many organizations as they establish new routines and health and safety protocols as we start coming out of the pandemic,” Mark Carter, Jr., President and Chief Operating Officer of Cintas’ First Aid & Safety Division, said. “While we are known for helping more than one million businesses get Ready for the Workday, we’re just as proud of our support of local non-profit and community groups who have similar needs but on different scales. We’re fortunate to have such strong, local organizations continuing their great work, and we’re proud to help with products that make a difference.”
