Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Andrei Iosivas generously selected United Way of Greater Cincinnati to receive $10,000 thanks to the JD Finish Line Foundation.
Iosivas presented the check to United Way President and CEO Moira Weir at JD Sports in Kenwood Towne Centre on Sunday, May 19. He also handed out $250 gift cards to members of the Youth Advisory Board (YAB) of Hamilton County, which works to influence policies related to young people in foster care. Iosivas helped the shopping spree recipients select new gear, answered questions, signed autographs and even stuck around to enjoy lunch with a few YAB members.
United Way of Greater Cincinnati is grateful to JD Sports, its foundation, and especially Iosivas for providing YAB members with an experience they won't soon forget.
CINCINNATI (May 17, 2024) – United Way of Greater Cincinnati is honored to announce Bengals Wide Receiver Andrei Iosivas has selected the organization as the recipient of a $10,000 donation, made possible by JD Sports/Finish Line Foundation, to help our community thrive.
Iosivas will present the check to United Way at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 19, at JD Sports in Kenwood Towne Centre. To make this event even more special, JD Sports is giving a $250 shopping spree to 10 youth and young adults selected through the Youth Advisory Board of Hamilton County, which consists of current and former foster youth working to influence policies impacting foster care. The shopping spree participants and the public will also have an opportunity to meet Iosivas as part of the event.
“I wanted to donate to a charity that was within my community,” Iosivas said during a Community Voices podcast hosted by JD Sports. “[Giving to] an organization that’s so prominent and that’s well established and trustworthy, I thought was the safest and the best way to go.”
Iosivas joined the podcast in celebration of Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, which is observed in May.
Originally from Japan, Iosivas grew up in Hawaii and played college football at Princeton University. The Bengals selected him in the 2023 NFL draft, and he now calls Cincinnati home.
“We are so grateful to Andrei for supporting his new community through a donation to United Way,” said Moira Weir, United Way President and CEO. “Through his generosity and the generosity of our many other supporters, we are working to create a Greater Cincinnati where everyone can thrive — now and in the future.”
