CINCINNATI (Oct. 30, 2024) - United Way of Greater Cincinnati (UWGC) is pleased to announce that Tricia Sunders has joined the organization as Chief Development Officer, effective Sept. 9, 2024. In this role, Sunders will lead growth strategies to expand the organization’s philanthropic efforts, focusing on developing strategic relationships with individual and institutional donors.
Sunders brings more than 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, most recently serving with the American Heart Association as Associate Vice President of Development where she led numerous successful fundraising initiatives. Additionally, Tricia served as Development Officer of Corporate Relations at Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati.
Her extensive background also includes the role of President for the Association of Fundraising Professionals in 2019, and she remains an active member of the organization today. Sunders will leverage her expertise to guide UWGC’s development team and support UWGC’s mission to enable economic mobility and well-being across Greater Cincinnati communities.

As Chief Development Officer, Sunders will oversee the planning, implementation, and management of UWGC’s fundraising efforts to support key community initiatives, including Educational Success, Financial Empowerment, and Housing Security. By enhancing revenue and strengthening donor relationships, Sunders will support UWGC’s commitment to providing immediate relief and sustainable solutions for individuals and families in Greater Cincinnati facing complex economic and social challenges.
