CINCINNATI (June 10, 2024) - United Way of Greater Cincinnati (UWGC) is pleased to announce its 2024 Community Campaign will be co-chaired by top executives of two preeminent health care organizations. This marks the first time leaders from separate organizations have shared that role.
Deborah Hayes, President and CEO of The Christ Hospital Health Network, and Steve Davis, MD, MMM, President and CEO of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, will lead the campaign. Davis serves on the United Way Board of Directors, and Hayes recently served on the board.
“I am delighted to have these two extraordinary leaders serve as our campaign co-chairs,” said Moira Weir, UWGC President and CEO. “Both bring passion and highly respected leadership to this role. I have no doubt they will inspire donors to support United Way’s efforts to achieve economic well-being for everyone in our region.”
Davis has led Cincinnati Children’s since November 2021 and was the driving force behind its largest expansion ever, a $600 million Critical Care Building.
“I am excited to work with Debbie on this campaign, which will fuel United Way’s efforts to create positive change and help ensure everyone in our community has opportunities to reach their full potential,” Davis said.
Hayes, who was appointed to the top post at The Christ Hospital Health Network in May 2021, has led major initiatives, such as transforming the campus infrastructure.
“United Way is a critical partner in helping our region thrive,” Hayes said. “In our roles as CEOs, Steve and I keenly understand how the health of our region is inextricably linked to what United Way fights for — educational success, financial empowerment and housing security.”
Hayes and Davis will build upon a successful 2023 in which UWGC was able to invest $36 million to support our community.
