CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio (August 29, 2022) — Thank you to everyone who attended our Books, BBQ & Bluegrass Birthday Bash on August 4, 2022 to celebrate the second birthday of Clermont County Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library, an extension of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
The program fulfills the country music star’s vision to provide books to all children from birth to age five. Not only does Imagination Library help generate love of learning in young people, it also sparks essential parent-child interaction.
United Way of Greater Cincinnati is an affiliate of Clermont’s Imagination Library, which aligns with United Way initiatives, including Success By 6,® to ensure children are ready for kindergarten. Research shows kindergarten readiness is crucial for children to achieve success in later grades, including third-grade reading proficiency.
What’s more, several community leaders at the birthday celebration – Jeff Weir, Superintendent of Clermont County Educational Services Center; Chris Wick, Director of Clermont County Public Library; and Joy Lytle, President of the Clermont Chamber of Commerce – pointed out that the program’s return on investment extends beyond the school-age years. Those children grow up to become adults with access to more opportunities.
In Clermont County, Imagination Library has reached more than 8,000 children and continues to grow daily. To continue this great work, we need your help.
For just $25, you can support a child in Clermont County for a year – who will receive 12 books! Each dollar you invest is matched by the Ohio governor’s office.
As always, thank you for your continued support of our work and dedication to our communities as we strive to create equitable solutions and opportunities for all.
