Dear United Way friends,

Tax season is upon us. You, or someone you know, may benefit from United Way’s Free Tax Prep program.

Free Tax Prep is an important initiative to help families with financial stability. Families save on tax-preparation fees (around $300) and our skilled preparers help ensure they receive their full refund. Many hard-working people in our region either don’t get the refund they deserve, or they lose some of their refund by paying someone to do their taxes, even forfeiting some of their refund dollars to get money earlier.

Free Tax Prep is available to Greater Cincinnatians with low or moderate incomes, and filing is even more important this year. Individuals and families can claim stimulus and Child Tax Credit payments missed in 2021 only by filing taxes. Most who use Free Tax Prep also are eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit.

United Way helped 7,000 people avoid more than $2 million in tax filing fees last year, while collecting more than $10 million in refunds!

Get more information on our website at uwgc.org/freetaxprep. We are here if you need us!

Sincerely,

Moira Weir
