On Oct. 29, United Way of Greater Cincinnati welcomed 174 community champions from 117 organizations to Northern Kentucky University for a day of connection, collaboration and shared learning. The energy in the room was palpable as partners from across sectors came together to explore how we can amplify our collective impact.
Our President and CEO, Moira Weir, opened the day with a powerful reminder: “The challenges we face are too complex for one organization to solve alone. Together, we're not just addressing symptoms — we're tackling root causes.” This theme of collaborative power resonated throughout the day's activities.
Partners engaged in focused breakout sessions addressing critical community challenges. Workforce development professionals collaborated on strengthening career advancement pathways, while youth-serving organizations developed strategies for safer communities in partnership with the city of Cincinnati. Family support practitioners shared effective engagement strategies, and early childhood advocates explored powerful new messaging frameworks. Each session combined practical insights with opportunities for enhanced collaboration, reinforcing our shared commitment to creating lasting change.
The day wasn't just about formal sessions. Partners engaged in structured networking activities, building connections that will strengthen our community's support systems. Informal conversations sparked new collaborative possibilities.
The convening reinforced three key principles that will guide our work:
As we move forward, United Way remains committed to fostering these vital partnerships and turning the day's insights into action. The conversations started at NKU will continue to inform and strengthen our collective work.
We're grateful to all who participated, and we look forward to seeing how these strengthened partnerships create positive change in our community.
