CINCINNATI (February 28, 2022) — Our Women of Tocqueville Compelling Conversations event featured Jennie Rosenthal and her daughter Liz Berliant, discussing generational giving. The two represent the fourth and fifth generation of Rosenthals giving back through volunteering and giving. They both spoke about early memories of learning their family’s role in philanthropy and making a positive impact on their community.

They also discussed trust-based philanthropy, and how funder-grantee relationships are stronger when built on the foundation of trust. The Rosenthal Foundation partners with United Way to support Project Lift, a public-private partnership helping families remove barriers to securing sustainable income and achieving financial stability.
United Way President and CEO Moira Weir explained Project Lift partners with sponsor agencies families know and trust to provide critical short-term assistance, as well as support, coaching and workforce development for long-term success. Since April 2019, Project Lift has worked with more than 1,100 households.
“This wouldn’t be possible without support from the public, including the very generous Rosenthal Foundation,” Weir said.
