CINCINNATI, Ohio (Nov. 22, 2022) —
Dear United Way friends,
As Thanksgiving approaches and people pause to appreciate all they are thankful for, I want you to know how incredibly grateful I am for your support of United Way of Greater Cincinnati.
Your support improves the lives of many hard-working people in our community. People like 28-year-old Danielle, who has struggled financially since her divorce three years ago.
Danielle, the mother of a 6-year-old, works full-time for a company that makes custom T-shirts, but her earnings haven't kept up with inflation. At times, she has needed help with rent and utility payments.
Danielle received such assistance from United Way's Project Lift, which taps public and private dollars to remove barriers that prevent families from achieving financial well-being.
With help from a Project Lift sponsor organization, Danielle has made strides toward building a strong financial foundation. Since getting her first credit card two years ago, she has remained debt-free. Her credit score has improved markedly. At work, she has taken on a variety of duties to enhance her resume.
"I have a lot of pride," Danielle said. "I do a lot on my own, so when I have to ask for help, it's hard. But I'm so thankful."
I am thankful, too. Thankful that with your support, we continue to build a community where everyone thrives.
From all of us at United Way — Happy Thanksgiving!
Sincerely,
Moira Weir
